Medieval Manuscripts in the d'Alzon Library: Home

This guide provides context, texts, and images for the nine medieval manuscript leaves in the archive of the d'Alzon Library. It aims to make the collection more accessible to students, educators, and researchers.

Welcome!

The Emmanuel d'Alzon Library at Assumption University houses nine parchment manuscript leaves from the late Middle Ages (ca. 1300-1600). Each of these objects is rich in historical significance, making the collection an invaluable asset to students, educators, and researchers. By providing context, texts, and images for each item, this Reference Guide aims to make the objects more accessible to the Assumption community and its visitors. To access information on each manuscript, select it under "Explore the Manuscripts" above.

The manuscripts are in the archive and special assistance is required to view them. Those interested may contact d’Alzon Library staff.

The guide was created in 2023 by Gennifer Dorgan (Adjunct Instructor of Latin, Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Cultures) and sponsored by a D’Alzon Summer Study Grant.
